About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support and continuously improve operations in our sheet metal shop, serving automotive exhaust and fabricated components. The role focuses on process optimization, production readiness, quality improvement, and cost efficiency across cutting, bending, stamping, and welding operations. Key Responsibilities Design, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes for sheet metal operations (laser cutting, shearing, bending, stamping, welding). Prepare and maintain process documentation: routings, work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, and standard times. Support new product introduction (NPI): feasibility reviews, tooling requirements, trial runs, and ramp-up. Analyze production data to improve cycle time, yield, scrap, and OEE. Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve shop-floor issues. Support tooling and fixture design/modification in coordination with maintenance and external suppliers. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, waste reduction, layout optimization). Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.3–7 years of experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment (automotive preferred). Strong understanding of sheet metal processes, tolerances, and manufacturability. Practical experience with welding processes and tooling concepts is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs. Data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Exposure to Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma tools. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Comfortable spending significant time on the shop floor.
