Caventa is seeking an experienced Upholstered Furniture Product Designer with a strong background in production-ready technical documentation.
This role is strictly focused on manufacturable upholstery design — not interior styling and not visual renders only.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have proven experience in upholstered furniture product design and be capable of delivering complete production tech packs, including:
Stitching & seam maps
2D CAD drawings (DWG / DXF)
Detailed sections and tolerances
Exploded internal construction views
Foam layering and comfort engineering
Support systems (webbing, springs, mechanisms)
Complete Bill of Materials (BOM)
You MUST Provide
Samples of actual tech packs used in manufacturing
Demonstrated understanding of upholstery construction, stitching logic, and assembly
Ability to reverse-engineer from references while producing legally distinct designs
Scope of Work
Upholstered sofa and armchair collections
Responsibilities
Understand client requirements and translate them into functional, attractive products
Collaborate closely with product management, sales, and marketing teams
Work within defined budgets and financial guidelines
Develop prototypes prior to final production approval
Revise and optimize designs based on internal and client feedback
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or a related field
2–5 years of relevant experience in furniture or product design
Strong creative, technical, and communication skills
Professional portfolio demonstrating manufacturing-ready work
