KORESTEEL is seeking a qualified Welding Engineer to join our fabrication and quality team. To manage and execute all welding quality documentation and qualification activities for steel fabrication and oil & gas projects. The role is focused on preparation, implementation, and approval of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and welding qualification documents (WPS, PQR, WPQ).

Key Responsibilities • Prepare and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for fabrication and site welding activities • Develop, review, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) • Manage and witness Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) • Prepare and approve Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) • Coordinate welding tests with QC, NDT, and third-party inspectors • Select welding consumables and parameters in compliance with project specs • Ensure welding activities comply with ASME Section IX, AWS, API, ISO • Review welding-related NCRs and define corrective actions • Provide technical support during fabrication and site erection

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering • 3–7 years experience in welding engineering for steel fabrication or oil & gas projects • Proven hands-on experience with: • ITP • WPS / PQR / WPQ • Strong knowledge of welding processes: • SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW • Familiar with: • Carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel • Experience with NDT coordination (RT, UT, MT, PT) • Certification is a strong advantage: • IWE / AWS / CSWIP • Ability to communicate with clients and third-party inspectors
