Heavy Trucks Fleet Supervisor

The fleet operations supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and utilization of the company's vehicle fleet. This includes managing driver schedules, dispatching vehicles, and monitoring fleet productivity to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The supervisor works closely with drivers and maintenance staff to optimize the performance and utilization of all fleet assets.

Key Responsibilities: -

  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maximize the utilization of drivers and vehicles within the fleet.
  2. Schedule and dispatch vehicles and drivers in a way that meets the company's transportation needs while minimizing downtime and idle time.
  3. Monitor real-time vehicle and driver data (e.g. location, route, hours of service) to identify opportunities to improve asset utilization.
  4. Analyze historical fleet data to forecast future transportation requirements and optimize staffing and vehicle allocations.
  5. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are serviced and available when needed, minimizing disruptions to transportation schedules.
  6. Provide drivers with clear instructions and support to complete their routes and tasks efficiently.
  7. Monitor driver performance and provide coaching to improve productivity and safety.

 


Educational Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or LogisticsSpecial Certification or Training RequiredRequired Industry Experience: 3 -5 years’ Experience in the Automotive Field and fleet
