Quality Manager Duties
- Preparing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures
- Develops regulatory requirements and guidelines in food safety management and control, such as ISO, FSSC 22000 standards and Hazards and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system.
- Leads the development and implementation of Food Safety Fundamentals, the Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan.
- Design quality assurance policies to prevent issues leading to poor product quality.
- Introduce industry best practices in quality inspection and testing methods.
- Write, update, and maintain SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for the Quality Assurance Program aligned with good laboratory practices (GLPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
- Optimize resources while ensuring raw materials and finished product meet specifications and manufacturing standards and in accordance with FDA, CFIA, GMP's, HACCP, and all other governmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensure application of best practices and signature tools to optimize Efficiency and Effectiveness.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of all food safety quality and regulatory policies and practices at assigned location.
- Be fully aware with all applied and implemented standards related requirement in factories under his responsibilities to support in ensuring compliance and fulfillment of requirement.
- Provide the needed training and coaching to his team to fulfill their job requirement and qualifications.
- Analyze, review and interpret food safety quality and regulatory policies and practices to identify and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Overseeing QC tasks to ensure proper documentation of records and reports submitted to management and authorities.
- Responsible for direct management and utilization of laboratory (analytical and microbiology), water treatment, syrup blending, sanitation, microbiological equipment, raw materials, and all quality processes.
- Oversee daily Quality Assurance inspections to ensure all products are meeting compliance.
- Establish an effective Quality system cover the control needed for material entry to product release
- Establish testing plans for materials, product, and packaging.
- Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
- Ensure all products produced in factories under his responsibilities are exposed to quality inspection regime.
- Ensure all products released to warehouses are complying with customer specifications and requirement.
- Overseeing operational status in the organization to ensure high quality processes and products.
- Planning, Managing and supervising internal audits as per ISO 9001 Policies.
- Overseeing process deviations to determine possible reasons.
- Monitor regularly his team performance and manage the positive and effective feedback to all of them. Inspect final products and compare properties to requirements, and approve the right products or reject defectives.
- Assign the Proper quality inspectors in terms of number and qualifications are located in right check point.
- Share with factory managers the best practice & lesson learnt within factories under his responsibilities.
- Participate positively in customer complaints root cause analysis and effective corrective actions to prevent the complaints recurrence.
- Supervise supervisors and inspectors and provide guidance and feedback.
- Possesses excellent analytical skills and sound judgment to establish critical guidelines, parameters and procedures within the organization.
- Work well in a team and possess strong communication skills to interact with and guide others effectively.
- Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of quality.
Quality Manager Requirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or another sciences field.At least 7 years of experience to maximum of 10 years in the Quality Assurance department in beverages and food industries.Good command of English Language,Good level of computer skills.Strong knowledge & practical experience of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, SQF.In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.Educational & Practical background in Quality Assurance and Internal Audit.Good communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent data collection and analysis skillsStrong attention to detail
