Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of IT with a proven track record in the construction industry to lead our technology initiatives and ensure seamless IT operations across multiple project sites. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our IT strategy, overseeing the implementation and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, and managing a team of IT professionals to deliver exceptional technology support to our diverse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with our business goals, focusing on leveraging technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety in our construction projects.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, cybersecurity, and data management systems across multiple sites. Ensure robust and reliable IT services to support all aspects of our construction operations.
• Microsoft 365 Expertise: Leverage advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, environment design, and management to optimize our collaboration, communication, and productivity tools. Drive the adoption and utilization of Microsoft 365 applications and services across the organization.
• Team Leadership: Manage a high-performing IT team of 6-8 professionals. Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to enhance their technical skills and ensure efficient collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep technical knowledge in networking, hardware benchmarking, tech support, cybersecurity, and data management (backup and restoration) to identify and implement innovative solutions that address the unique challenges of the construction industry.
• Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect our sensitive data, systems, and networks from cyber threats. Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring we receive the best value for our investment.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support our technology initiatives and operational needs.

Qualifications and SkillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.Experience:Minimum 18 years of experience in the IT industry, with a significant portion focused on supporting construction or engineering operations.Proven track record in leading and managing IT teams in a demanding, fast-paced environment.Experience working across multiple sites and managing diverse IT infrastructure.Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, environment design, and management, especially Microsoft Sharepoint.Certifications: ITIL certification is required. Additional certifications in Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, COBIT framework or data management are highly desirable.Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a team to achieve exceptional results.Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in networking, hardware benchmarking, tech support, cybersecurity, data management (backup and restoration), and Microsoft 365 administration. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement innovative solutions.Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential risks to IT operations.Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including project managers, engineers, and executives.
