- Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Identify, research, and qualify potential agricultural suppliers based on our product needs, quality standards, and sustainability criteria.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new farm partners.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and contract terms with suppliers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Manage supplier performance, monitoring on-time delivery, consistent product quality, and adherence to contract terms.
- Conduct regular farm audits to verify compliance with our sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
- Contracting and Risk Management:
- Develop and draft comprehensive farm contracts, outlining terms, specifications, pricing, and quality control measures.
- Manage risks associated with agricultural sourcing, including weather fluctuations, crop yields, and potential supply disruptions.
- Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory requirements related to agricultural contracts and sourcing practices.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify current trends in agricultural commodities, pricing fluctuations, and potential sourcing opportunities.
- Analyze supplier data and market trends to inform optimal product portfolio decisions and pricing strategies.
- Identify potential cost-reduction opportunities within the supply chain.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, quality control, R&D) to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and contract terms.
- Clearly communicate sourcing decisions, contract details, and potential risks to internal stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with external partners (e.g., industry associations, agricultural experts).
- Travel:
- May be required to visit farms for potential sourcing opportunities, contract negotiations, and audits (depending on company structure).
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).Minimum 3-7 years of experience in agricultural sourcing, procurement, or contract negotiation.Strong understanding of agricultural practices, product quality specifications, contract law, and risk management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Experience with agricultural contracting (a plus).
