Role Description The Senior Journalist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Giza. The Senior Journalist will research and produce original news stories, features, and reports across print and digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance. Daily responsibilities include fact cheking,attending events, conducting interviews, verifying information and sources, and drafting articles under tight deadlines. The role involves editing and refining content, contributing to press releases, and coordinating with editors, photographers, and other journalists to develop comprehensive coverage. The Senior Journalist will also support junior reporters through guidance and feedback, help shape editorial angles, and participate in newsroom meetings and planning sessions.
Qualifications

Strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate journalism. Experience drafting Press Releases and working with media communications in a newsroom or related environment. Excellent Research abilities, including source verification, data gathering, and fact-checking under deadline pressure. Background in Broadcasting or familiarity with audio/video formats and storytelling for multiple media channels. Proven experience in a senior or mid-level journalistic role, preferably at a newspaper or reputable news outlet. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong editorial judgment, ethical standards, and understanding of media law and journalistic best practices. Ability to work on-site in Giza, collaborate effectively with cross-functional newsroom teams, and adapt to fast-paced news cycles. Fluency in relevant working languages and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
