Role Description The Contract Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Al Jizah, Egypt. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing project contracts, including technical and commercial terms, to ensure alignment with project requirements and company policies. The Contract Engineer will coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, and legal teams to monitor contract execution, track milestones, and manage variations, claims, and change orders. Daily tasks include analyzing tender documents, supporting bid preparation, evaluating subcontractor and supplier proposals, and maintaining accurate documentation for contractual records and approvals. The role also involves identifying contractual risks, recommending mitigation measures, and ensuring compliance with international standards, local regulations, and internal quality procedures.
Qualifications
Strong contract management and administration skills, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating engineering and construction contracts. Experience in project coordination and project management within engineering, construction, or consultancy environments. Knowledge of civil, architectural, and MEP engineering concepts sufficient to understand technical scopes and contractual implications. Proficiency in document control, tender and bid evaluation, and contractual reporting for stakeholders. Familiarity with relevant local regulations, international standards, and common contract forms used in engineering and construction (e.g., FIDIC or similar). Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and risk awareness. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in MS Office and project-related software; experience with contract or ERP systems is an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline. Previous experience in contract engineering or a related role in the engineering or construction sector, preferably within the Saudi or Egyptian markets. Ability to work on-site full time in Al Jizah, Egypt and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
