We are seeking an Instructional Designer to help create high-quality, accessible, and engaging online courses for students around the world. Working closely with Subject Matter Experts, Department Chairs, Faculty, Course Developers, and internal project teams, you will help translate academic expertise into effective online learning experiences that meet university standards and support meaningful student outcomes. The opportunity This role is ideal for an instructional design professional who understands online learning, applies sound adult-learning principles, and enjoys collaborating with academic and technical stakeholders to bring high-quality courses to life. Key responsibilities Partner with Subject Matter Experts to design and develop high-quality online courses. Provide expertise across instructional planning, course development, implementation, and evaluation. Review course materials for copyright, ADA, and Section 508 compliance. Collaborate with Course Developers to create accessible, interactive, and engaging learning content. Apply appropriate teaching and learning theory and distance-learning principles to fully online course development. Support the selection of instructional materials, learning tools, and activities for interactive online environments. Guide the development of effective and meaningful student assessments. Identify and recommend high-quality Open Educational Resources (OERs). Provide direction on course elements, including syllabi, learning outcomes, and curricular mapping. Track project progress and help ensure timely completion of deliverables. Contribute to other related duties as assigned. What you will bring Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or a related field. Master’s degree in instructional design or a related field is preferred, but not required. One to three years of relevant experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or online learning. Working knowledge of instructional design principles and curriculum development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong time-management and project-management skills, with the ability to manage resources and meet deadlines. Basic technical knowledge of HTML, internet research, OERs, and educational web tools. Demonstrated ability to design effective online learning experiences. Interest in innovative and creative approaches to course delivery. Additional qualifications Relevant certifications in education or educational technology are welcome. Fluency in Arabic and English is an advantage. Familiarity with the OSCQR rubric is preferred, but not required.
