Scan-to-BIM Structural Engineer (BIM-26-01) Location: Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt GSC Engineering & Geo Consulting is seeking an experienced Scan-to-BIM Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate structural BIM models of existing buildings and infrastructure using point-cloud data, site surveys, as-built drawings, and structural investigation findings for projects across Egypt and the GCC region. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. At least 5 years of relevant experience in structural BIM modelling. Proven experience in Scan-to-BIM projects and modelling existing structures. Previous experience with engineering consultancy firms and GCC projects is preferred. Strong technical coordination and communication skills. Requirements Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure is mandatory. Strong practical experience working with point-cloud data obtained from laser scanning, LiDAR, or photogrammetry. Proven ability to develop accurate structural BIM models for existing buildings from registered point clouds. Experience modelling reinforced-concrete and structural-steel elements, including foundations, columns, walls, beams, slabs, stairs, and roof systems. Ability to identify and model structural irregularities, deformations, level variations, and deviations from the original drawings. Experience integrating point-cloud data, as-built drawings, site measurements, and structural investigation findings. Good knowledge of Autodesk ReCap and Navisworks; experience with Cloud Compare or similar point-cloud software is an advantage. Ability to produce structural plans, sections, elevations, schedules, details, and as-built documentation directly from BIM models. Understanding of BIM standards, model coordination, clash detection, Levels of Development (LOD), naming conventions, and quality-control procedures. Ability to distinguish between structural and non-structural elements within existing buildings. Familiarity with structural assessment, rehabilitation, retrofit, and strengthening projects is highly preferred. Ability to coordinate with structural, architectural, MEP, geotechnical, geophysical, and surveying teams. Ability to manage multiple projects, support junior BIM engineers and modelers, and deliver accurate models within project deadlines.
