Job Purpose The Design Manager (Architecture) is responsible for leading the architectural design process across assigned projects, ensuring that designs align with the organization's vision, quality standards, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. The role coordinates with internal departments, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver innovative, functional, and buildable design solutions from concept through construction. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the architectural design process throughout all project phases. Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and design deliverables. Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated designs. Manage external architectural consultants and monitor their performance against project requirements and timelines. Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, company standards, and client requirements. Review value engineering proposals to optimize cost without compromising quality or functionality. Collaborate with Development, Construction, Project Management, Procurement, and Commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in design review meetings and provide technical guidance to project teams. Monitor design progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules. Support the tendering process by reviewing technical documentation and responding to design-related queries. Conduct site visits during construction to ensure design intent is maintained and resolve technical issues. Mentor and develop architects and junior design team members. Stay informed about industry trends, sustainable design practices, and emerging technologies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Master's degree is an advantage. Professional registration or membership with a recognized architectural body is preferred. Experience8–12 years of architectural design experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, or hospitality developments. Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants and coordinating complex projects. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of architectural design principles and construction methodologies. Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit, BIM, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with local building codes and planning regulations. Strong understanding of design coordination, value engineering, and construction documentation.
