We are looking for an experienced and driven Section Head – Primary Design Engineer to lead the delivery of HV/MV/EHV substation and power infrastructure projects. In this leadership role, you will oversee primary design activities, manage engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities / deliverables

• Lead and manage the Primary Design Engineering team.
• Oversee the design of HV/MV/EHV substations and power infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, utility, and client standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Review vendor submittals and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence within the team.
• Support project planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 17+ years of experience in power, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Proven expertise in HV/MV/EHV substation design.
• Strong experience in managing engineering teams and multidisciplinary projects.

Language proficiency requirements

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

Knowledge and functional competencies

• Strong knowledge of primary equipment, substations, and power systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT, CDEGS, and related engineering tools.
• Excellent understanding of IEC, IEEE, and utility standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering quality results on time.
