Role Description The Project Material Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for supporting materials-related activities across assigned projects. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating and selecting appropriate materials for components and systems, conducting materials analysis, and collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards. The role involves performing research and development activities, reviewing material performance data, and recommending improvements to designs or processes. The Project Material Engineer will prepare technical documentation, support supplier evaluations, and contribute to risk assessments related to material choices. This position requires regular coordination with engineering, quality, and procurement stakeholders to ensure project timelines and quality requirements are met.
Qualifications

Strong foundation in materials-focused disciplines, including Materials, Materials Science, and Metallurgy. Ability to perform technical Research and Development (R&D) activities related to material performance and innovation. Experience with Material Selection for engineering applications, considering cost, performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with industry standards and testing methods for materials characterization and qualification. Proficiency in technical documentation, data analysis, and use of engineering tools or software related to materials evaluation. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical findings. Experience in project-based work or engineering consulting environments is an advantage.
