Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Structural Design & BIM Engineer role located in Alexandria, Egypt. The engineer will develop structural designs for building and infrastructure projects, perform structural analysis, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing detailed CAD and BIM models, preparing structural drawings and documentation, and coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines. The role involves working closely with project teams to resolve design challenges, optimize structural systems, and support project delivery from concept through construction. The engineer will also contribute to improving Floatmap’s integrated engineering workflows and maintaining accurate digital project records.
Qualifications Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, with the ability to design safe and efficient structural systems. Background in Civil Engineering, including understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant local and international standards. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and workflows for producing precise engineering drawings and models. Hands-on experience with Auto CAD for structural detailing, drafting, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience or familiarity with BIM processes and software (e.g., Revit, Tekla, or comparable tools) is highly beneficial. Ability to interpret engineering plans, perform technical calculations, and document designs clearly and accurately. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and design methods.
