The company is establishing a manufacturing facility in New Borg Al Arab City, Alexandria, Egypt, specializing in IV solutions, vials, ampoules, and purified water. Located in Block 15, Extension of the 4th Industrial Zone, GIPCCO aims to meet the needs of the Egyptian, Middle East, and African markets. Role Description The Quality Control Laboratory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt. The role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day QC laboratory operations for pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing, including planning and supervising testing activities for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The manager will ensure that all analyses follow approved methods, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory requirements, and will maintain laboratory documentation, SOPs, and quality records. Daily tasks include managing laboratory staff, training team members, monitoring equipment calibration and maintenance, and reviewing and approving test results and certificates of analysis. The role also involves investigating out-of-specification and non-conformance results, coordinating with production and QA, supporting audits and inspections, and driving continuous improvement in laboratory practices and quality standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Quality Control skills, including method implementation, sampling plans, and compliance with GMP and regulatory standards. Candidates should possess advanced Laboratory Skills, such as handling sterile products, performing microbiological and physicochemical tests, and following safety and hygiene protocols. Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, trend analysis, problem-solving, and investigation of out-of-specification results. Candidates should possess experience with Laboratory Equipment, including operation, qualification, calibration, and maintenance of instruments such as HPLC, UV, balances, p H meters, and sterility testing systems. Candidates should possess strong Quality Assurance-related skills, including documentation control, SOP development, deviation and CAPA management, and support for internal and external audits. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field, with experience in pharmaceutical or cosmetic manufacturing. Additional beneficial skills include team leadership, training and coaching abilities, effective communication, proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and familiarity with local and international regulatory guidelines.
