Job Summary The Precast Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all precast concrete production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing while meeting quality standards, customer requirements, and production schedules. The role focuses on maximizing productivity, optimizing resources, reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management* Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.* Ensure production targets are achieved within agreed timelines.* Monitor production efficiency and capacity utilization.* Coordinate production activities with Planning, Engineering, QA/QC, Maintenance, and Logistics.* Ensure timely delivery of precast products according to project schedules.* Optimize workflow and production processes to improve productivity.* Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Operations Control * Supervise all production operations including: * Mold preparation * Reinforcement installation * Concrete batching and casting * Finishing * Curing * Demolding * Storage * Loading * Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, and equipment. * Monitor plant performance and production KPIs.
Quality Management* Ensure compliance with company quality standards and project specifications.* Coordinate with QA/QC to minimize defects and rework.* Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.* Promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Environment* Ensure full compliance with HSE policies and procedures.* Promote a strong safety culture across the factory.* Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.* Ensure employees use appropriate PPE.
Maintenance Coordination* Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with the Maintenance Department.* Ensure production equipment operates efficiently.* Minimize downtime through effective maintenance planning.
Team Leadership* Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and production teams.* Conduct performance evaluations.* Identify training needs and support employee development.* Foster teamwork and employee engagement.
Inventory & Resource Management* Monitor raw material consumption.* Reduce waste and improve material utilization.* Ensure adequate availability of molds, tools, and production resources.
Reporting Prepare and submit reports related to:* Production output* Productivity* Plant efficiency* Downtime* Material consumption* Waste* Safety performance* Production KPIs
Qualifications Education* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related with minimum general grade good.
Experience* 10–15 years of experience in precast concrete manufacturing.* Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Technical Skills* Strong knowledge of precast concrete production processes.* Knowledge of concrete technology and mix designs.* Understanding of reinforcement fabrication and mold systems.* Familiarity with batching plants and production equipment.* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.* ERP system experience (SAP, etc.).* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
