Job Purpose Preparing and reviewing plumbing and firefighting designs, drawings, and calculations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards, and coordinating with other disciplines for integrated MEP solutions.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and review plumbing and firefighting system designs, drawings, and calculations. Ensure designs comply with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., NFPA, BS, or local codes). Assist in preparing shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation. Support senior engineers in resolving technical design issues. Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural) to ensure integrated designs. Provide design clarifications to site teams during installation and commissioning phases. Support the team in resolving technical queries from contractors or consultants. Ensure all designs adhere to quality control procedures and project requirements. Follow up on approvals, revisions, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. Maintain records of design documents, approvals, and revisions. Assist in preparing progress reports and design updates. Document technical decisions and calculations accurately.
Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEP specialization preferred) Minimum 2–5 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting design Experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects Familiarity with international codes and standards (NFPA, BS, ASHRAE, local codes) Strong knowledge of plumbing and firefighting system design Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit MEP, and hydraulic design software Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications Coordination and communication skills Problem-solving and analytical abilities Attention to detail and quality assurance Good command of English (written and spoken)
