Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a high-performing Associate Backend Engineer (Python & Django) to take ownership of building and delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality backend solutions. In this role, you will contribute to system design, lead backend feature delivery, and support the integration of modern AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while ensuring engineering excellence throughout the delivery lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end delivery of backend features from requirements clarification and design through development, testing, and deployment ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure web applications and APIs using Python and Django. Contribute to backend architecture and design decisions, including data modeling, service structure, and performance optimization. Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring reliability and maintainability. Collaborate with frontend engineers, product stakeholders, and solution architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Ensure code quality and engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security across environments. Support production deployments, monitoring, and issue resolution, ensuring system stability. Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical direction within modules or workstreams. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, enabling efficient releases. AI & Advanced Capabilities Contribute to the integration of AI/ML-driven features (e.g., recommendation systems, document processing, conversational interfaces) into backend services. Work with AI/ML models or APIs (e.g., LLMs, NLP services) and integrate them into scalable backend systems. Support data pipelines and preprocessing workflows required for AI-enabled use cases.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of backend development experience, with demonstrated ownership of feature delivery.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django (or similar frameworks).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data modeling.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to work in agile, fast-paced delivery environments.
• Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) or similar API frameworks.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures or messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML services or working with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure AI).
• Understanding of data engineering concepts (pipelines, ETL, data processing).
• Experience in client-facing or consulting environments.
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and delivery focus across assigned workstreams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement, with ability to translate technical concepts.
• Ability to lead backend delivery within modules, guiding design and implementation.
