Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Furniture Technical Office Engineer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Furniture Technical Office Engineer will prepare detailed shop drawings for wood and metal furniture, joinery, and related architectural elements in coordination with project specifications and design intent. The role includes preparing and reviewing bills of quantities (BOQs), supporting quantity take-offs, and coordinating with the production, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate execution. The engineer will review client and consultant drawings, clarify technical queries, and propose practical solutions that meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements. Daily tasks also involve document control for technical submittals, participation in project meetings, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and company procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts specialized in Furniture design or a related field At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture design and technical office work for wooden and metal works Excellent proficiency in CAD software and other design programs Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and joineries Ability to create technical drawings and specifications Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Passion for the furniture industry and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
