Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Design Manager role based in Egypt. The Design Manager will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams across all project phases, from concept development through detailed design and construction documentation. Responsibilities include translating client requirements into design briefs, reviewing and approving design proposals, and ensuring compliance with local codes, international standards, and firm guidelines. The person in this role will oversee design schedules, manage design-related risks, and collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and external consultants to resolve technical issues. Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior designers, implementing quality control processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of design methodologies and tools across the firm.
Qualifications

Strong architectural and engineering design skills, including concept development, schematic design, and detailed design for building and infrastructure projects. Proficiency in design and drafting tools (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit or other BIM platforms, and relevant visualization or modeling software). Experience in design coordination and management, including leading interdisciplinary teams and integrating inputs from structural, MEP, and other specialists. Solid understanding of local Egyptian building codes, regulations, and permitting processes, as well as familiarity with international standards and best practices. Proven ability in project planning and time management, including preparing and monitoring design schedules and meeting milestones. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and quality control for design deliverables, including technical reviews and design risk mitigation. Leadership capabilities, including mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering collaboration, and managing performance. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Previous experience (typically 7+ years) in design management or senior design roles within engineering or architectural firms; experience with complex or large-scale projects is a plus. Ability to work on-site in Egypt and collaborate across different project locations as needed
