-Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design, coordination, and delivery of building mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will be technically strong in HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting design, with a solid understanding of international standards and Saudi Building Code requirements.
Key Responsibilities :- Prepare HVAC system design including load calculations, equipment sizing, duct routing, and ventilation design- Design plumbing and drainage systems including water supply, drainage, and water heating systems- Design firefighting systems including sprinkler systems, pump sizing, and hydraulic calculations- Prepare mechanical calculation reports, equipment schedules, BOQs, and technical specifications- Prepare and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals- Develop coordination drawings and resolve clashes with architectural and MEP disciplines- Review architectural, structural, and electrical drawings to ensure integrated mechanical solutions- Conduct value engineering assessments and propose cost-effective design alternatives- Provide technical support during site execution and perform occasional site visits to verify design compliance- Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, authority regulations, and client requirements- Participate in design review meetings and coordination with stakeholders
Qualification & Experience :- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering- Minimum 5 years of experience in building mechanical design- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, and related international standards- Proficiency in HAP/Trace (HVAC load calculations), Auto CAD, Revit MEP (preferred), Elite Fire or similar (preferred)- Experience in designing mechanical systems for residential and commercial buildings including HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, and Firefighting systems- Ability to prepare mechanical design reports, calculations, and deliverables- Strong coordination experience with architecture, structure, and electrical disciplines- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines Preferred Qualifications (Plus Points)- Experience with GCC/KSA-based projects- Experience preparing authority submissions in KSA or UAE- BIM project experience using Revit MEP- Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, or green building guidelines (LEED, Estidama, etc.)
