Production & Maintenance Senior Engineer

The Maintenance & Operations Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of presses, dies, and welding production lines. This role bridges the gap between technical maintenance and operational efficiency, ensuring that the team, equipment, and materials are synchronized to achieve maximum output while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Oversight & Production Excellence

  • System Management: Manage the operation and maintenance of presses, dies, welding lines, and all related sub-equipment for sheet metal/tin plate production.
  • Tooling Precision: Ensure proper die selection, alignment, and preventive maintenance across various tin plate thicknesses and sizes.
  • Troubleshooting: Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and hands-on troubleshooting for mechanical malfunctions or quality deviations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement process mapping to streamline operations and eliminate non-value-added activities.

2. Team Leadership & People Development

  • Supervision: Provide end-to-end leadership for the subordinate technical team, managing their daily schedules and performance.
  • Skill Building: Develop the technical skills of operational employees/technicians through coaching and structured training programs.
  • Change Management: Effectively manage team dynamics and any resistance to change arising from new processes or diversities within the team.

3. Operational Planning & KPI Tracking

  • Material Management: Monitor raw material availability against production plans (on the ERP system and shop floor) to take immediate corrective actions.
  • Real-time Monitoring: Track daily machine status against assigned timetables to minimize downtime.

  • Safety Leadership: Responsible for team and equipment safety through Behavioral Safety Visits (BSV) and enforcing strict safety practices.
  • Standardization: Create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and current policies related to the workstations.
