Maintenance Engineer

4. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsibilities for the position and the expected end result including tasks
Follow strict maintenance and repairs procedures as per specified standards to ensure integrity and safety of Electrical  systems and equipment.
Responsible for installation and or modifications of equipment for use in hazardous and non-hazardous locations,  ensuring all safety regulations have been followed. 
Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment,  nature of technical problem, and possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or  rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.
Responsible for implementing effective equipment maintenance / overhaul of specified equipment in accordance with  all relevant company and vendor procedures so as to facilitate maximum reliability, availability and safety of the  equipment.
Implement the safe and efficient preventive, and corrective maintenance of systems and equipment in accordance with  the agreed maintenance and safety procedures to ensure smooth operations.
Perform daily maintenance checks on operating equipment and report any abnormities.
install and calibrate the machine based on work need to make sure that machines are working in proper way

Develop preventive maintenance schedules for plant, machinery and equipment to ensure that these continue to operate  at optimum levels.
Monitor the performance of plant and equipment and revise maintenance schedules as necessary to ensure their  continued effective performance.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets to ensure that maintenance is carried out within agreed costs.
Determine the optimum level of spare parts to be held in stock to ensure that availability is maintained at minimum  cost.
Maintain comprehensive records of stocks and maintenance carried out.
Maintain contact with other departments to ensure that any plant shutdown is carried out at minimum cost and  inconvenience.



 

Maintain knowledge of new developments in maintenance practices and procedures to ensure that there is continuous  improvement in maintenance standards.

A clear understanding about the complexities of the internal (company) and external (marketplace) environments in which  the position operates.
