1. Quality Control & Inspection - Develop and implement quality inspection standards for raw materials (wood, hardware, finishes), in-process items, and finished products.
- Conduct routine inspections on panels, cut sizes, edge-banding, drilling accuracy, joinery quality, surface finishing, and assembly.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, drawings, tolerances, and industry standards.
- Approve or reject incoming materials and finished goods based on quality criteria.
2. Quality Control and Assurance: - Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production lines.
- Lead implementation of 5S, Lean principles, and continuous improvement practices.
- Maintain calibration records of measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, moisture meters, squares, gauges, etc.).
- Ensure correct use of quality documentation including checklists, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and inspection reports
- Implement and maintain quality control measures, processes and procedures to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Investigate and resolve production issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards and customer expectations.
3. Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis - Identify recurring quality issues and conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, etc.
- Work with production supervisors to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Reduce defect rates, waste, and rework by improving production processes and material handling systems.
4. Production Support - Provide guidance to machine operators and carpenters on quality expectations and best practices.
- Monitor performance of CNC machining, panel saws, edge banders, sanding, and finishing equipment for accuracy.
- Ensure finishing and coating processes (spray painting, varnishing) meet quality standards.
5. Compliance & Documentation - Ensure products comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain records for customer audits and certifications (ISO 9001, FSC, etc.).
- Review technical drawings and job orders for clarity and adherence to quality specifications.
6. Customer Quality Management - Support resolution of customer complaints related to quality.
- Participate in site inspections for installed cabinetry when necessary.
- Provide technical explanations and corrective plans to clients and project managers.
- Prepare monthly reports for senior management on overall production /factory performance.
