Job Purpose:
Responsible for promoting MSC’s intermodal services, securing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Ensures cargo is efficiently managed across the supply chain, tracking and reporting requirements are met, and the MSC brand and advantages are effectively represented in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with customers to drive sales growth, ensuring monthly sales targets are consistently achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance Intermodal Logistics’ competitive buying platform and improve market positioning.
- Re-engage existing MSC clients and attract new customers interested in intermodal Logistics’ services to expand market presence and strengthen business relationships.
- Attend industry fairs to attract potential clients, discuss client logistics plans, and estimate import/export volumes whether direct clients or freight forwarders.
- Conduct weekly client site visits to promote core and value-added services, reinforce relationships with existing customers, and generate sales leads for prospective clients.
- Arrange feeder booking allocations between Egyptian ports (barges) in collaboration with feeder suppliers, according to the applicable GVA tariff.
- Coordinate with the import commercial team and trucking operations to handle reefer container movements to and from MSC depots.
- Assist in handling trucking rate negotiations and contract discussions with clients, agents, and service providers to secure favorable deals in compliance with HQ MSC regulations.
- Assist in building and maintaining a preferred supplier list to handle overbookings, conducting regular evaluations of service quality, cost efficiency, and value-added offerings.
- Assist in coordinating with MSC agencies worldwide to offer pre-carriage and on-carriage (manifested) shipments and value-added services, including pricing tariffs, while continuing to liaise with local clients to arrange bookings and trucking operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across OVA, IST, and OVA HQ systems to support effective management tracking, data-driven analysis, and strategic sales planning.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree of a relevant discipline is a must.Language: Proficiency in both written and spoken English.Specialized knowledge: Knowledge of intermodal transport solutions (trucking, barge, port operations, reefer movements).Good understanding of sales and negotiation techniques.Familiarity with international shipping practices.Awareness of tariff structures, rate management, and cost analysis.
