Senior Travel Consultant

Role Purpose:

The job holder is responsible for selling a wide range of travel products and services like ticket bookings, visa, transportation, hotel arrangements, etc. The role involves understanding and maintaining excellent product/services information recommending products and services based on individual needs, cross-selling and/or up selling to increase revenue while ensuring a uniquely positive travel experience; and submit daily sales report with all relevant documents through TRAACS on time.

Duties:

  • Demonstrates effective telephone and e-mail etiquette and adheres to the set timelines to ensure optimum customer satisfaction
  • Assists customers (Walk-in/Corporate) as per travel requirements. This involves gaining all relevant information on their travel needs, understanding and analyzing this information and answering queries regarding destinations, available airline options, schedules, fares and related matters to ensure a positive travel experience
  • Coordinates and communicates with the team and various departments to ensure customer requirements are met appropriately
  • Coordinates with holidays department for holiday packages and other leisure related service requirements
  • Communicates information to Customers accurately and appropriately and stays abreast on all airline rules, regulations and current affairs to ensure they are well advised on travel plans
  • Builds and maintains strong relations with Corporate Customers and various airline representatives to ensure business support
  • Monitoring, sorting and working on GDS (global distribution system) queues on a day-to-day basis to maintain quality control
  • Provides alternative travel details when sending quotations in proper format with instructed corporate rates and with all terms and conditions.

  • Carries out all operational activities (such as reservation, issuance of tickets, holiday packages, and the reporting of transactions through TRAACS).
  • For credit sale, attach all required documents as proof of credit sale (LPO, E-mail, Official Letter, etc.) Regular follow up to ensure LPO is valid and accepted within a maximum of three days to close the sales files.
  • For retail sale, attach all required documents as proof of sale (cash and credit card)
  • Check the queues on a regular basis and recheck before the end of the shift. Recheck before the travel date and ensure that the required services of customers are arranged properly.
  • Reports all customer complaints & appreciations to the Line Supervisor/Manager to facilitate appropriate review and action
  • Carry out other duties and attends regular meetings with the Line Manager to provide progress updates and receive feedback from time to time.
  • Guarantee that all cases handed over for following up staff for pending cases for his shifts, leaves and weekends

 


Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, business or relevant field.Minimum 3 – 5 years of Holiday packages experience in travel industryExcellent English levelExcellent communication skills
