Mechanical Maintenance Manager – Heavy Truck Workshop
We’re seeking a high-impact Mechanical Maintenance Manager to lead the full maintenance lifecycle of our heavy-duty truck fleet. This is a mission-critical leadership role overseeing workshop performance, mechanical reliability, and operational uptime across a high-volume transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all mechanical maintenance and repair operations for the heavy truck fleet, ensuring maximum availability and optimal performance.
- Oversee workshop teams, allocate workloads, set priorities, and enforce maintenance standards and compliance protocols.
- Direct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and electrical systems.
- Govern preventive and corrective maintenance plans while ensuring alignment with operational demands.
- Drive efficiency through ERP Maintenance Module utilization—monitoring work orders, spare parts, downtime, and maintenance KPIs.
- Establish quality benchmarks, safety practices, and rigorous maintenance procedures across the workshop.
- Manage vendor relationships, parts procurement, and cost control to optimize maintenance budgets.
- Conduct technical audits, root-cause analysis, and performance reviews to elevate workshop output.
- Collaborate with fleet operations to align priorities, minimize breakdowns, and strengthen fleet reliability.
- Lead, coach, and develop technicians, ensuring strong bench strength, discipline, and technical competency.
- Prepare maintenance performance reports for senior management and propose data-driven improvements.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.10–12 years of experience in heavy truck mechanical maintenance, including 5+ years in workshop leadership.Expert knowledge of heavy-duty systems: engines, drivetrains, braking, suspension, electrical, hydraulics “Mercedes Actros from Mp1 to MP4 experience required"Strong command of maintenance systems “ERP Maintenance Module experience required”Proven capability in multi-team leadership, workload planning, and workshop performance management.Demonstrated ability to manage downtime, control costs, and drive continuous improvement.High resilience, structured thinking, and strong decision-making under pressure.
