Job Description

Main Purpose
 

An economic researcher analyzes economic data, develops economic models, and prepares reports to help organizations make informed decisions. Their core duties include collecting and interpreting data, forecasting market trends, and communicating findings through reports and presentations to stakeholders. 
 

Duties & Responsibilities
 

Data Collection
 

  •  Compile relevant data and information required for assigned research project.
     
  •  Conduct in-depth interviews (if needed) with private sector and government officials to complement compiled data and information and enhance content of research.
     
  •  Contribute to updating library by gathering up-to-date publications and data.
     
  • Contribute to updating the list of key events in related sectors
     

 
 

Data analysis: 
 

  •  Collect, manage, and analyze economic and market data to identify trends and patterns. 
     

Economic modeling: 
 

  • Develop and maintain economic models to forecast future trends and assess the impact of different policies or scenarios. 
     

Research and reporting: 
 

  • Conduct in-depth research on economic issues and write reports, monthly updates, and presentations that summarize findings and provide recommendations. 
     
  • Respond to business inquiries by members and non-members by providing relevant information or reference to other sources.
     

 
 

Forecasting and advising: 
 

  •  Interpret market conditions and provide economic insights to advise governments, businesses, or other organizations on strategic decisions. 
     

Collaboration: 
 

  • Work with other researchers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and integrate economic insights into broader initiatives. 
     

Monitoring: 
 

  • Continuously monitor economic indicators to stay up-to-date with current trends. 
     


 


Required Skills Analytical and critical thinking: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and think critically about economic issues.  Technical skills: Proficiency with statistical software, data analysis tools, and econometrics is essential.  Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Attention to detail: A high degree of accuracy is necessary for data collection, analysis, and report preparation.  Organizational skills: The ability to manage projects, maintain databases, and organize research work effectively.
