Senior Architectural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the management and technical direction of all phases of architectural projects, from preliminary design through final execution. This role involves ensuring that projects are delivered according to specifications, within budget, and on schedule, while adhering to the highest standards of design and quality.

  1. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Architectural Engineer's core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Project Management and Planning
  • Managing all project stages, from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs.
  • Preparing realistic project schedules and closely monitoring progress to ensure timely completion within the allocated budget.
  • Conducting cost estimations, preparing project budgets, and developing competitive bids for new projects.
  • Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices, terms, and services

Design and Quality Control

Reporting and Documentation

  • Architectural Design and Supervision: Leading and reviewing architectural design work (interior and exterior), including detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Monitoring Execution Quality: Ensuring that all on-site work strictly conforms to approved technical standards, specifications, and the highest quality levels.
  • Reviewing and approving shop drawings submitted by contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Following up on landscaping and planting works to ensure seamless integration with the overall architectural design.
  • Ensuring that all designs and project documentation comply with relevant local and international regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Documenting all processes and maintaining accurate records, site diaries, quality assurance (QA) documentation, and project reports.
  • Preparing advanced monthly reports detailing the executive workflow position, Cost & Budget analysis, and tracking all Variation Orders (VOs).
  • Presenting regular project progress updates and status reports to senior management.

Education and ExperienceTechnical SkillsSoft SkillsBachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field.Minimum of 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in architectural design or project management.Proven experience working on projects similar in size and scope to those managed by the company.Good knowledge of engineering codes and construction requirements (specifically for Educational and Administrative Buildings).High proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Revit/3D Max, Sketchup, and Lumion.Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of interior design principles, including space planning, furniture layout, lighting design, and color theory.Good familiarity with project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera or MS Project).Good foundational knowledge of Infrastructure and MEP system design principles.Experience with materials selection and preparation of technical specifications.Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of making sound decisions under pressure.Creative, innovative mindset with a meticulous attention to detail.Proven ability to work independently, manage budgets effectively, and maintain excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to mentor, guide, and collaborate effectively with junior engineers and cross-functional teams.Additional PreferencesIt is highly preferable for candidates to reside in cities near the university location, such as: (10th of Ramadan – El Shorouk – El Obour – Heliopolis – Nasr City).
