Sr. Production Engineer

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Production Operations
  • Monitor daily performance of tea bag production lines.
  • Ensure set production targets are achieved in terms of output, accuracy, and downtime.
  • Verify proper machine calibration, sealing temperature, tea weight dosing, and alignment.
  • 2. Quality Compliance
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards, including tea weight accuracy, sealing integrity, and packaging specifications.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Ensure the application of GMP, HACCP, ISO, and food safety standards.
  • 3. Process Improvement
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues such as bag leakage, sealing defects, or wastage.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, OEE enhancement).
  • Implement measures to minimize material waste (filter paper, thread, packaging materials).
  • 4. Production Planning & Reporting
  • Coordinate with the planning team to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitor and record daily KPIs: output, downtime, OEE, waste percentage.
  • Prepare shift performance reports and recommend improvements.
  • 5. Coordination & Supervision
  • Supervise machine operators, assistants, and line workers to ensure proper execution of tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to hygiene and discipline standards.
  • Act as a technical focal point during operations.
  • 6. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Identify machine malfunctions and take corrective action in coordination with maintenance.
  • Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
  • Validate machine performance after maintenance activities.
  • 7. Safety & Hygiene
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure PPE compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic production environment in line with regulatory standards.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents and hazards.

Job Specifications (Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Mechatronics Engineering3–5 years in FMCG, food, beverage, tea bag, sachet, or packaging productionTea/herbal products, powder filling, packaging machinery, FMCGExperience with tea bag machines (IMA, Teepack, Perfecta or similar), understanding of OEE, Lean Manufacturing, RCA, HACCP, GMPAdvanced MS Excel; ERP systems experience is a plusLean Six Sigma Green Belt, HACCP, ISO 22000Analytical thinking, problem-solving, time management, attention to detail, leadership, team coordinationAbility to work on the production floor, handle shift work, and stand for extended periods
