- Prepare, review, and manage detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for mechanical engineering projects.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets and resource allocation.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor project expenditures, track progress, and prepare regular cost reports for stakeholders.
- Assess and certify interim and final payments for contractors and suppliers in accordance with contract terms.
- Identify, analyze, and manage project risks related to costs, contracts, and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting and control.
- Support tendering processes, including the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies throughout all project phases.
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and support staff, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.Minimum of 4 years and maximum of 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical quantity surveying or cost engineering.Proven track record in managing cost estimation, contract administration, and project budgeting for mechanical systems.Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Willingness to work in an office-based arrangement with occasional site visits as required.
