Industry: Steel Fabrication – Pressure Vessels
Job Purpose:
To develop, monitor, and control production schedules for the fabrication of pressure vessels to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed production plans and schedules based on customer orders, project timelines, and available capacity.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on job priorities and material availability.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, delays, or resource constraints.
• Prepare and issue job orders and fabrication schedules to the workshop teams.
• Ensure that welding, machining, assembly, and testing processes are properly sequenced and scheduled.
• Track progress of jobs in real-time and report delays or deviations to stakeholders.
• Work closely with quality control and safety departments to ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, or applicable codes and standards.
• Optimize use of raw materials, workforce, and equipment to minimize waste and reduce lead times.
• Analyze production data and generate reports for management regarding performance, efficiency, and delivery compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in production planning within a heavy fabrication or pressure vessel manufacturing environment.• Familiarity with fabrication processes such as welding, rolling, cutting, and NDT.• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API standards, and other relevant codes is preferred.• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and planning software (e.g., Odoo, Microsoft Project).• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
