Service Safety Officer - Marsa Alam

  • Operational Safety Monitoring & Compliance
  • Conduct daily site walks and shop floor inspections to observe work practices, identify immediate hazards, and ensure adherence to established safety protocols.
  • Perform weekly inspections of specific work areas, equipment, and tasks, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions.
  • Lead monthly comprehensive safety audits focusing on departmental compliance and risk control system effectiveness.
  • Monitor and enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk tasks such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, working at heights, and lifting operations.
  • Ensure regular inspection and certification of lifting equipment, tools, and machinery for safe operational use.

 

  • Proactive Safety Engagement & Communication
  • Lead daily Toolbox Talks (TBTs) to communicate job-specific hazards, reinforce safety procedures, and share lessons from past incidents or near misses.
  • Engage with employees at all levels to foster a positive safety culture, encourage hazard reporting, and resolve safety issues in real-time.
  • Coach and mentor employees on safe work behaviors and correct use of PPE and equipment.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs, including onboarding for new employees and refresher courses relevant to heavy equipment maintenance.

 

  • Risk Management & Incident Prevention
  • Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for non-routine or new maintenance tasks to assess and control risks.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors during operations and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Oversee the selection, proper usage, and maintenance of PPE based on job-specific requirements.

 

  • Incident Response & Reporting
  • Respond promptly to incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, initiating immediate containment and corrective measures.
  • Support incident investigations, collecting facts, interviewing involved personnel, and contributing to root cause analysis.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports detailing inspection results, observations, and corrective action status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety activities, including inspections, TBTs, training, incidents, and audits.

Education & Certification:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,  Science,or a related field.NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent health and safety certificationAdditional certifications in risk assessment, incident investigation, or industrial hygiene are a plus.English language proficiency at B2 to C1 level , with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English in a professional environment.Experience:Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a Health, SafetyProven experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations.Familiarity with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.Soft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to promote a strong safety culture.Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage emergency or crisis situations effectively.
