Senior Planning Engineer

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract Responsibilities:

Obtain Project Documentation:

Prepare the Tender schedule for the prospective projects whenever needed.

Acquire the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from the Estimation Department upon receipt of the letter of award.​

Collect the drawing list from the Technical Office Department to incorporate into the project baseline schedule.​

Coordinate with Departments:

Collaborate with the Procurement Department to identify long-lead items and their supply durations.​

Work with the Tender Department to assess the impact of potential project variations on the baseline schedule.​

Understand Contractual Obligations:

Familiarize yourself with the contract's specific conditions, ensuring adherence to submission durations, payment terms, and agreed-upon project milestones.​

Integrate Subcontractor Schedules:

Incorporate the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and Civil baseline schedules from relevant subcontractors into the overall project baseline to establish a clear sequence of work.​

Engage with Stakeholders:

Liaise with consultants and clients to review and obtain approval for the project baseline schedule, addressing any feedback in subsequent submissions.​

Post-Contract Responsibilities:

Resource Allocation:

In consultation with the Project Manager, allocate appropriate resources to each project activity.​

Monitor and Report Progress:

Attend weekly coordination meetings with consultants and/or owner representatives to discuss and resolve project challenges.​

Track actual site progress, identify any delays, and develop recovery plans for delayed activities.​

Manage Project Documentation:

Stay informed about project correspondence to support any potential time or financial claims.​

Under the supervision of the Head of Department, draft contract claims detailing time impacts, delay analyses, and financial damages resulting from unforeseen project delays.


Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a construction management field.Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project planning and control within the construction industry. ​Proven track record in managing large-scale projects, such as resindetial  high-rise buildings, commercial complexes developments. ​Technical Skills:Proficiency in project management software, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. ​Strong analytical skills to interpret complex project data and metrics. ​Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in project planning and control. ​Experience with resource planning, cost estimation, and risk management. ​Certifications:Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) are preferred. ​Personal Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. ​Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. ​Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities to identify and address project challenges proactively. ​Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field. ​Experience in the contracting sector, particularly in construction and fitting out projects. ​Familiarity with contracts FDIC administration principles and practices. ​Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
