Job Summary:
The supply chain manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain within a manufacturing environment, ensuring the efficient flow of materials, components, and products through the supply chain. This role is responsible for optimizing supply chain processes, managing vendor relationships, overseeing inventory management, and ensuring that production runs smoothly without disruptions. The supply chain manager will collaborate with other departments like production, logistics, quality control, and procurement to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the entire supply chain process, from procurement and sourcing to inventory management and distribution
Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve production timelines
Maintain and improve supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of materials and components to support production schedules
Manage inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory
Work closely with the production team to ensure the smooth flow of materials to meet production demands
Monitor and report on key supply chain metrics, including lead time, stock turnover, supplier performance, and cost savings
Collaborate with logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials and finished goods
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential supply chain disruptions (e.g., raw material shortages, transportation issues)
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules
Oversee the implementation and use of supply chain management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies throughout the supply chain process
Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, procurement, and logisticsExperience with supply chain management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)Proven ability to optimize supply chain operations and reduce costs while maintaining quality and meeting deadlinesExcellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with other departments such as production, quality control, and financeFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices is a plusPreferred Certifications:APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)Six Sigma Green Belt/Black BeltCSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)Experience in implementing or working with ERP systems
