Branch Accountant

Job Summary:

The Branch Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting operations of the branch. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations, processing transactions, and preparing financial reports. The Branch Accountant acts as a key liaison between the branch and head office finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update general ledger and branch accounting records on a daily basis.
  • Monitor branch expenses, revenues, and budgets to ensure financial performance aligns with company targets.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable activities; ensure timely invoicing and collections.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports for management review.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash audits.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements specific to the branch location.
  • Verify and reconcile inventory records with warehouse data (if applicable).
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits and implement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll data and staff expense reimbursements.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring internal control procedures and accounting policies at the branch level.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a branch or multi-location environment.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Odoo).Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.
