The Tender Engineer (Lighting Department) is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting competitive bids and proposals for lighting projects. This includes analyzing tender documents, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, estimating costs, and ensuring compliance with client requirements. The role requires strong technical knowledge of lighting systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Tender Preparation & Submission:
Review and analyze tender documents (RFQs, RFPs, BOQs, specifications, and drawings).
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for lighting projects (indoor, outdoor, architectural, industrial, etc.).
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance) to gather necessary inputs.
Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Evaluate lighting products (LED fixtures, control systems, smart lighting solutions) and select cost-effective options.
Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing sheets.
Technical & Commercial Proposal Development:
Draft technical proposals, including lighting design concepts, product specifications, and compliance statements.
Prepare commercial proposals, payment terms, and contract conditions.
Ensure proposals align with company policies and profitability targets.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or related field.Experience: 3+ years in tendering, estimation, or project engineering within the lighting industry.Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of lighting products (LED, solar, smart lighting, controls).Familiarity with lighting design software (DIALux, Relux, AutoCAD).Understanding of energy efficiency standards (LEED, WELL, BREEAM).Soft Skills:Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.Strong written and verbal communication.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Certifications (Preferred):Certified Lighting Professional (CLP), PMP, or similar.
