Company Overview

A leading global manufacturer specializing in the design, development, and production of precision-engineered automotive components is expanding its footprint in Egypt. As part of the global expansion strategy, a new manufacturing facility will be established in Alexandria or Port Said within the next six months. This facility will serve as a key export hub to Europe, operating within a Free Trade Zone.

Role Overview

The Factory Operations Liaison will play a crucial role in the rapid establishment and operational setup of the new manufacturing site. This position requires a highly organized, hands-on professional with expertise in factory operations, government liaison, and logistics.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Egyptian industrial regulations, experience working within Free Trade Zones, and proven ability to coordinate factory setup and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Government & Regulatory Liaison

  • Serve as the primary contact for GAFI (General Authority for Investment and Free Zones) and SCZONE (Suez Canal Economic Zone) to facilitate business registration, factory setup, and compliance processes.
  • Work closely with local authorities to ensure smooth approvals for business operations, customs clearance, and licensing requirements.

2. Factory Setup & Operations

  • Identify pre-built factory units (3,000+ sqm) within Alexandria or Port Said Free Trade Zones and assist in lease negotiations.
  • Oversee the installation of production lines, utilities, and logistics infrastructure, ensuring operational readiness within the six-month target.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to ensure stable power supply, water, and other essential utilities required for manufacturing.

3. Workforce Planning & Recruitment

  • Identify skilled and unskilled labor pools to establish a stable workforce for the factory.
  • Collaborate with local recruitment agencies and industrial training centers to source qualified personnel.

4. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Ensure seamless importation of raw materials (e.g., resins, fabrics, electronic components) under Free Trade Zone benefits.
  • Support the establishment of efficient shipping routes for exporting finished products to Europe.

5. Reporting & Communication

  • Provide weekly progress reports to the global operations team, highlighting milestones, challenges, and next steps.
  • Act as a liaison between the Egypt operations team and the global headquarters, ensuring alignment of strategies and expectations.

Experience:5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial project management, or factory setup.Prior experience working with Egyptian Free Trade Zones (SCZONE, GAFI) is a strong advantage.Background in automotive, electronics, plastics, or injection molding industries is preferred.Education:A degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.Skills & Competencies:Fluent in English and Arabic (both written and spoken) for effective communication with international and local teams.Strong knowledge of industrial regulations, licensing, and customs procedures in Egypt.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, essential for liaising with government authorities, suppliers, and stakeholders.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, expansion-focused environment.Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to address challenges in factory setup and operational execution.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and project management tools is a plus.
