1. Freight Forwarding Operations Management
- Oversee and manage import/export freight forwarding operations for sea, and land shipments.
- Ensure smooth coordination of cargo movement from origin to destination, optimizing transit times and costs.
- Work closely with shipping lines, trucking companies, and warehouse providers to secure competitive rates and service agreements.
- Ensure timely booking and documentation of shipments in compliance with international trade regulations.
- Monitor and resolve any operational issues related to freight delays, damages, or customs holds.
2. Customs Clearance & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure customs clearance procedures are conducted smoothly and in compliance with Egyptian customs laws and international trade regulations.
- Manage relationships with customs authorities and relevant government agencies to resolve any issues or disputes.
- Ensure proper classification of goods, accurate documentation, and correct application of duty and tax regulations.
- Stay updated on customs tariffs, free trade agreements, and regulatory changes to optimize clearance processes.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of import/export declarations, permits, and customs reports.
3. Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Provide logistics solutions and advisory services to clients on freight forwarding, customs clearance, and trade compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, freight partners, customs officials, and government authorities.
- Handle and resolve client inquiries or concerns related to shipments, documentation, and customs clearance.
4. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise and support the freight forwarding and customs clearance team, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on best practices, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for continuous improvement in operations.
- Foster a collaborative and proactive work environment to drive operational excellence.
5. Business Development & Process Improvement
- Identify new business opportunities and propose strategies to expand freight forwarding and customs clearance services.
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to improve service offerings.
- Optimize internal workflows and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency in freight and customs clearance operations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and value-added logistics solutions.
6. Financial & Budget Control
- Monitor operational costs, freight charges, customs duties, and overhead expenses to ensure profitability.
- Negotiate with service providers to secure cost-effective and high-quality solutions for clients.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to freight revenue, customs brokerage fees, and operational costs.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Transport, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or customs clearance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs regulations, international freight procedures, INCOTERMS, and logistics documentation.Experience handling LCL, FCL, break-bulk, and project cargo.Excellent negotiation, leadership, and client relationship management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, freight management systems, and ERP software.Fluency in English & Arabic (both written and spoken) is preferred.
