Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our small but growing F&B business. This role involves tracking, analyzing, and managing the costs of our food and beverage operations, helping us improve profitability and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Tracking & Analysis
Monitor and record food and beverage costs, labor costs, and overheads.
Track inventory levels (raw materials, finished goods, etc.) and calculate usage and waste.
Analyze costs and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Calculation
Calculate and track the COGS for all menu items, including direct materials, labor, and overhead costs.
Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on COGS and profitability.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist with creating budgets and forecasts for food and beverage operations.
Prepare variance analysis reports to compare actual expenses against budgeted amounts.
Inventory Management
Oversee inventory control and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
Conduct periodic stock takes and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and accounting records.
Menu Pricing & Profitability
Work closely with the kitchen and management team to determine the cost structure of menu items.
Suggest pricing strategies based on ingredient costs, market trends, and profitability analysis.
Financial Reporting
Assist in monthly and annual financial close processes.
Provide management with actionable insights on financial performance, trends, and areas of improvement.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, inventory, and accounting documents.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3-7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the F&B or hospitality industry.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Excel.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.Preferred:Experience with ERP systems or restaurant management software.Understanding of the F&B industry and inventory management best practices.Compensation:[Compensation details: salary, benefits, etc.]
