BIM Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

BIM Electrical Engineer combines electrical engineering expertise with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to design, model, and coordinate electrical systems in construction 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed BIM models for electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation and as-built models.
  • Assist in the preparation of BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and project schedules.

Qualification: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM), or a related field.Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in electrical engineering or BIM in the construction, infrastructure, or building services sectorsCertifications (Optional but Preferred):Autodesk Revit MEP certification.BIM Modeling: Hands-on experience with BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, or similar tools.Technical Skills:Proficiency in electrical systems design and layout (e.g., power distribution, lighting, fire alarms).Advanced knowledge of BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Dynamo, etc.).Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS, or local standards).Ability to coordinate with other disciplines (architecture, structural, mechanical).Knowledge of clash detection and resolution techniques using tools like Navisworks.Experience with project documentation, including BIM Execution Plans (BEP).Soft Skills:Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with project teams.Problem-solving abilities to address design challenges.Attention to detail for accurate modeling and documentation.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design
