Position Summary
The Customs Clearance Specialist significantly contributes to the top and bottom-line target's achievement by continuously ensuring on time availability of finished goods and raw materials (at an optimal cost) by maintaining an optimal lead time and cost, while also guaranteeing a high standard of compliance.
A day in the life of
- Customs clearance of raw materials, machines, and spare parts in the shortest lead time possible
- Cost optimization through tariffs reduction by checking alternative sources with bilateral/preferential trade agreements
- Ensure supply availability by guaranteeing payments on time to suppliers
- Follow up on blocked & parked invoices and account management are key activities
- Manage cost efficiently through reduction of port storage and container demurrage cost
- Performance management of clearing agents, decision makers in import/export authority, and shipping lines through regular meeting and sharing scorecards.
- Daily follow-up on customs payments, documentations, contact shipping lines to follow up on consignment, and work with clearing agents on releasing said consignments
Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply Chain and Logistics0-2 years of experience in Supply ChainKnowledge of Egyptian laws and regulations governing imports and customs.An understanding of INCO termsMandatory documents required for the import of finished goods and raw materials
