Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electromechanical Senior Engineer (DataCenter Solutions Architect) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of datacenter design, implementation, and operations. You will be responsible for leading and managing datacenter infrastructure projects from concept through to execution, ensuring that they meet our high standards for efficiency, scalability, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and operations, to deliver state-of-the-art solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Center Design & Planning: Lead the design and planning of data centers, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards. This includes site surveys, architectural planning, and capacity modeling.
- Infrastructure Design: Oversee the design of critical infrastructure components, including electrical systems, cooling solutions, power distribution, networking, and fire protection, to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Project Management: Manage the end-to-end implementation of data center projects, from concept and design through to construction, commissioning, and operational handover. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with internal teams such as electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and technologies within the data center infrastructure.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure that all data center designs and implementations comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942). Address potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Energy Efficiency & Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient solutions and sustainability practices into the design and implementation of data centers, optimizing for performance and reducing operational costs.
- Testing & commissioning: Oversee the testing, and commissioning, of datacenter infrastructure and systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards before go-live.
- Client Support: Provide ongoing technical support and consultation to clients during the implementation phase, ensuring that their specific requirements are met and that they are satisfied with the final solution.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, implementation instructions, delivery plans and progress reports.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.9+ years of experience in data center design, implementation, or operations, with a strong track record of delivering successful data center projects.Expertise in designing and implementing complex infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and network systems within data centers.Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, including scope, budget, scheduling, and risk management.Strong understanding of energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices in data center design.Hands-on experience with tools for data center design, modeling, and simulation for Micro, Containment, and Pre-fab data centers.Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, or other similar tools.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and collaborate with internal teams.Strong leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.Industry certifications such as LEED, PMP, or relevant certifications from Uptime Institute.Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and hybrid cloud data center designs.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data center security measures.Familiarity with software-defined infrastructure and automation tools.
