Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical and electronic issues in vehicles.
- Analyze wiring diagrams and schematics to trace faults in electrical circuits.
Repair and Maintenance
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, fuses, relays, and switches.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems, audio systems, and power windows.
- Service and replace battery systems, alternators, and starters.
Advanced Systems Support
- Work on vehicle control systems, including sensors, actuators, and ECUs (Electronic Control Units).
- Repair and maintain hybrid and electric vehicle components, including battery packs and electric drivetrains.
System Installation and Upgrades
- Install aftermarket systems, such as alarms, GPS navigation, and entertainment systems.
- Upgrade existing electrical systems for improved functionality or performance.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all electrical repairs comply with safety and industry standards.
- Follow environmental guidelines when handling electrical waste and materials.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare reports on the condition and performance of vehicle electrical systems.
