Chief Accountant

1. Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee Accounting Functions: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), payroll, and bank reconciliations using the Odoo accounting system.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Saudi regulations.
  • Procurement & Sales Integration: Collaborate with the procurement and sales departments to ensure the accurate recording of transactions in Odoo, including purchase orders, vendor invoices, sales orders, and customer payments.
  • B2B Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights into the company’s procurement processes and B2B sales transactions, tracking margin analysis, profitability, and supplier performance.

2. VAT Compliance & ZATCA Regulations:

  • VAT Management: Ensure the accurate application of Saudi VAT (15%) on purchases and sales, in compliance with local regulations.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, ensuring all relevant documentation and reports are submitted to ZATCA (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority) on time.
  • ZATCA Compliance: Monitor and implement the latest ZATCA guidelines, including e-invoicing requirements, and ensure the company’s processes are fully compliant.
  • VAT Audits & Tax Filings: Liaise with ZATCA for any tax-related issues or audits and ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns, including handling any VAT or Zakat discrepancies.

3. Internal Controls & Audit:

  • Maintain Financial Integrity: Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead the coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation of documents, schedules, and supporting data for review.
  • Reconciliations: Oversee the reconciliation of accounts, including vendor accounts, inventory accounts, intercompany accounts, and general ledger entries.

4. Procurement & Supply Chain Financial Management:

  • Procurement Transactions: Manage the accounting and financial analysis for procurement-related activities, including vendor contracts, payments, and reconciliations in Odoo.
  • Cost Control: Monitor procurement costs and provide recommendations to optimize spending, improve supplier terms, and reduce cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Supplier and Customer Relations: Ensure that payment terms with suppliers and customers are adhered to and that the company maintains positive relationships with key business partners.

5. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead Accounting Team: Manage, supervise, and mentor the accounting team, ensuring effective performance and professional growth.
  • Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and guidance to staff on accounting principles, Odoo usage, VAT compliance, and Saudi tax regulations.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and ensure alignment with the department’s strategic objectives.

6. Process Optimization & Automation:

  • Odoo System Optimization: Leverage the capabilities of Odoo accounting system to streamline accounting processes, reduce manual work, and ensure real-time reporting.
  • Automation of Routine Tasks: Implement and optimize automation features in Odoo for invoicing, payment tracking, VAT calculation, and financial reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency, minimize errors, and improve data integrity.

7. Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Budget Preparation: Collaborate with senior management to prepare annual budgets, including revenue projections, procurement costs, and capital expenditures.
  • Financial Forecasting: Provide regular financial forecasts and variance analysis to senior management, identifying any potential issues or opportunities.

Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or similar certifications are highly preferred).Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role in a procurement or B2B business.Strong experience with the Odoo accounting system (hands-on experience with Odoo is required).In-depth knowledge of Saudi VAT laws and ZATCA regulations, including experience with e-invoicing and Zakat requirements in Saudi Arabia.Technical Skills:Advanced proficiency with Odoo accounting modules (AP, AR, GL, Inventory, VAT).Strong working knowledge of Saudi VAT regulations and ZATCA guidelines, including VAT returns and tax filing processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and modeling.Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems.Soft Skills:Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring compliance with tax laws, financial policies, and internal controls.Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.Working Conditions:Full-time position (40 hours per week), with flexible working hours if required.Office-based position with occasional travel for audits, supplier meetings, or training (if applicable).Adherence to local working regulations and office policies.
