Senior IT Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior IT Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems, and providing expert technical support. The Senior IT Specialist will lead and collaborate with other IT staff, troubleshoot complex issues, implement technology solutions, and ensure the security and efficiency of our IT systems. 

IT Infrastructure Management: 

• Oversee the management, configuration, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and systems. 

• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT services and infrastructure. 

• Manage and optimize cloud-based services and on-premises systems to meet business needs. 

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: 

• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and network issues. 

• Respond to escalated support requests and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime. 

• Work closely with the IT helpdesk team to ensure all issues are addressed effectively. 

System Security and Data Protection: 

• Ensure the implementation and enforcement of IT security protocols to safeguard against cyber threats and data breaches. 

• Regularly assess and upgrade the organization’s IT security infrastructure, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption protocols. 

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and policies. 

Project Management and Implementation: 

• Lead IT-related projects from planning to execution, including hardware and software upgrades, network expansions, and system migrations.

• Collaborate with other departments to understand their technical needs and implement tailored IT solutions. 

• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.

 Documentation and Reporting: 

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. 

• Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and IT support activities. 

• Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations based on IT metrics and performance data. 

Team Leadership and Mentorship: 

• Lead, mentor, and train junior IT staff, providing guidance and ensuring team development. 

• Collaborate with other IT professionals to share knowledge, improve processes, and ensure best practices. 

• Assist in staffing decisions and provide input on performance evaluations for team members. 

Vendor and Stakeholder Management: 

• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. 

• Negotiate contracts, track service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure the organization receives optimal value for IT services and products.


Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or similar) are highly desirable. Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role.Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure, network administration, and system troubleshooting.Hands-on experience with a variety of IT technologies, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity tools.Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network management tools. Expertise in networking protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).Strong knowledge of IT security practices and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner. Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software-related problems.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CISSP, or equivalent. Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.Familiarity with database administration and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell, Python).
