Planning Specialist

Job Summary:

A planning specialist in a pharmaceutical company is responsible for developing and overseeing production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, and maintaining inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock. They collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to coordinate material availability, production timelines, and delivery schedules. The role includes analyzing supply chain efficiency, identifying potential bottlenecks, and implementing strategies for process optimization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 - Production Planning: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts and ensure timely delivery of products. 

- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast requirements, and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock levels.

- Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and sales teams to streamline the supply chain and minimize disruptions. 

- Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales data, market trends, and historical performance to project future demand and adjust plans accordingly. 

- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in planning and production processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness. 

- Compliance Assurance: Ensure planning processes align with regulatory requirements and company quality standards. 

- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on production performance, inventory status, and planning accuracy, providing insights for strategic decisions. 

- Risk Management: Anticipate potential disruptions, such as supply chain issues or production delays, and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks. 

- Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and priorities.

 

 


Qualifications: • Education: Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science or Faculty of Science. A master’s degree is a plus. • Experience: 4+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, or a similar role within supply chain. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in planning and forecasting tools. Familiarity with ERP and data analytics software is advantageous. • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex information clearly. • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
