1. Pricing Strategy and Cost Analysis:

  • Pricing Models: Develop and maintain pricing models for different types of projects (e.g., fixed price, cost-plus, or time and material).
  • Cost Estimation: Perform detailed cost analysis by reviewing labor, material, overhead costs, and other expenses to estimate project budgets.
  • Market Research: Conduct competitive analysis to ensure the company's pricing is competitive in the market while maintaining profitability.
  • Price Quotation: Prepare and submit accurate pricing quotes for project proposals, tenders, and requests for quotations (RFQs).
  • Profitability Assessment: Analyze the profitability of potential projects by evaluating cost vs. pricing and suggesting improvements to optimize margins.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Perform break-even analysis, ROI assessments, and other financial analyses to guide pricing decisions.

2. Project Study and Technical Feasibility:

  • Project Evaluation: Conduct initial project studies to assess technical and operational feasibility, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Scope Definition: Work with project managers and engineers to define project scope and identify any special technical or commercial requirements.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with the technical and engineering teams to ensure the proposed solutions meet customer needs while being cost-effective and technically feasible.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks associated with the project (e.g., cost overruns, scope creep, material shortages) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze data from previous projects to inform decision-making and improve future project pricing.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Internal Collaboration: Liaise with various internal teams (sales, engineering, procurement, legal) to gather necessary information for project studies and pricing models.
  • Customer Interaction: Support the sales team by engaging with clients to understand their requirements, answering technical queries, and providing accurate pricing information.
  • Project Handover: Ensure smooth transition of pricing and project details to the project management and execution teams.

4. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project costing, pricing models, and the financial performance of active or upcoming projects.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all pricing models, calculations, and assumptions for future reference and audit purposes.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Process Optimization: Identify and recommend improvements to pricing processes, cost estimation tools, and project study methodologies.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and competitor pricing strategies to continuously refine pricing models.
