Role summary

Responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including software, hardware, network systems, email platforms, device management, cybersecurity, backup solutions, and disaster recovery plans. Ensures all systems run efficiently, securely, and are aligned with the business's technology needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems across the organization.
  • Overseeing and managing Microsoft 365 products, including user accounts, permissions, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Administering and optimizing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Managing Active Directory for user account creation, management, and permissions, ensuring proper access controls are in place.
  • Providing first and second-line technical support via the helpdesk system, resolving software, hardware, and network-related issues.
  • Managing and maintaining IT hardware including workstations, laptops, printers, servers, and mobile devices to ensure their proper function and timely repairs.
  • Overseeing device management, including configuring, deploying, and maintaining devices like computers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Managing and maintaining backup systems, ensuring regular data backups are performed and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
  • Implementing and enforcing cybersecurity measures to safeguard IT systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to assess technology needs and implement solutions that support business goals.
  • Managing the organization's software inventory, ensuring that all applications are up to date, properly licensed, and compliant with relevant policies.
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure quick system recovery in case of unexpected events or system failures.
  • Monitoring system performance, conducting regular audits, and providing recommendations for improvements to optimize efficiency and uptime.
  • Ensuring compliance with IT security standards, including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and network access control.
  • Maintaining and updating IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to implement new IT projects and ensure smooth deployment and integration.
  • Providing training and support to staff on the use of IT systems and best practices.
  • Staying up to date with new IT technologies and trends, implementing relevant advancements to enhance the organization's IT infrastructure.

Required qualifications and experience3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration or a similar role.Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.Experience with Active Directory management, including user account creation, group policies, and permissions.Hands-on experience with IT hardware management, including deployment, repair, and troubleshooting of workstations, laptops, and peripherals.Experience with device management tools and practices for securing and deploying devices across the organization.Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 products, email systems, and cloud-based services.Experience with managing backup systems and disaster recovery processes.Hands-on experience with cybersecurity protocols, including antivirus management, firewalls, and security monitoring tools.Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.Familiarity with ticketing systems for managing support requests.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex IT issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with non-technical users and teams.Experience with cloud computing platforms is a plus.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are preferred.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate IT documentation. Personal attributesThrives in a fast-paced environment and manage both routine maintenance and emergency support requests Demonstrates a high level of analytical thinking, able to dissect complex data sets, including market trends, pricing strategies, and consumer behavior, to uncover patterns and actionable insights that enhance procurement and commercial strategies.Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, able to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with business objectives.Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; quickly adapts to new technologies, and emerging trends, navigating challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.Takes initiative and leads by example, showing a commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation, while motivating others to achieve their best performance and contribute to the company’s strategic goals.
